SUMMER MUSIC LESSONS - June 26 to August 11, 2017

Lessons will take place at CALDERON MUSIC STUDIO, 7204 S. Ridgeland Ave, Chicago.  New families will need to attend an orientation before enrolling in a class or private lesson.  Orientation will be held Saturday, June 24, at 11:00 AM. Continuing students, register by clicking on the ONLINE REGISTRATION tab.

Click the Online Registration tab when you are ready to enroll in a group class, private lesson, or both. Please note, if you are enrolling for Suzuki Violin Class, this includes both the group and private.  If you are only enrolling in a private or a group individually, select the correct option so you are charged correctly. The fees listed below DO NOT include registration/materials' fee.

Private Lesson Fees 
$35 per 30 minutes
$47 per 45 minutes
$70 per 60 minutes

Group Fees
$95 for 7 weeks (Music for Tiny People)
$140 for 7 weeks (violin or piano class)
$385 for 7 weeks (Suzuki violin)

Suzuki Violin/Viola Lessons (ages 3 and up)
(Private lessons scheduled upon registration.  See time below for group class)
Students receive a weekly private and group lesson that focuses on technique and musicianship and a group lesson which reinforces the private lesson material and where students together work on musicianship, music theory, movement, and reading music. Students will be placed in the appropriate group below. Private lessons are scheduled upon registration.

Music for Tiny People (ages 2 to 4 years)
Thursdays 3:00-3:45 PM
Instructor: Phyllis Calderon

Students take a musical journey exploring sounds, rhythms, instruments, and more.  Activities will focus on tonal and rhythmic development through singing, rhythm instrument play, and movement. Emphasis is placed on stimulating fine and gross motor skills, as well as cognitive skills through songs and musical activities that teach math, reading and language skills. Parents are required to attend with their child.

Suzuki Group Violin for Young Beginners (Pre-Twinklers to Early Book 1, ages 3-6)
Wednesdays 5:30-6:15 PM

Instructor: Phyllis Calderon
Students learn about the violin through games and music activities. Emphasis on proper posture and good tone on open strings. Students will learn beginning technique and musical exercises through fun violin songs and the Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star Variations.  Music theory will be introduced in a child-friendly manner.  Parents are required to attend with their child. 

Suzuki Group Violin, Book 1 (continuing students)
Fridays 5:30-6:30 PM

Instructor: Phyllis Calderon
This class is a continuation from the Pre-Twinkle/Early Book 1 class.  Students learn new skills and a focused approach on theory and note reading skills.

Mondays 4:30-5:15 PM

Beginner Piano Group (ages 5 to 7)
Thursdays 5:00-6:00 PM
This class is designed for beginners who have had little to no previous piano instruction. Weekly lessons address foundation theory and keyboard skills.
